Portsmouth Old City and Historical Dockyard, Hampshire

It was here, beside the water that the first cup of tea was drunk. Catherine Braganza, whilst waiting for Charles 11 her betrothed, to arrive, sat down on the quay and ordered a cup of tea. As the statue of Nelson looks out to sea looking every inch the nation’s hero, we can almost hear the pilgrims nervous chatter as they leave for shores unknown and the arrivals who take a long look at this Historic Port of England. It is here that you can now view the vista laid out before you from the incredible Spinnaker Tower, visit the working and Historic Docks and see what life was like for the sailor of the fifteenth century in the Mary Rose Museum.
