Old – New Forest

Animals roam free in this very special area of Hampshire. Not the animals of a safari park, but the domestic sort, ponies, cattle, donkeys, occasionally sheep, and for thirty days in Autumn, pigs. You cannot miss the point at which you enter the royal hunting grounds of King William 1st, for the cattle grids announce your entry into an area that sees locals called “commoners”, and their rights called “commoner’s rights”. You can cycle, horse-ride, walk, picnic in picnic areas, taste local cider and wine, and camp on licensed campsites. It provides 26 miles of coastline, villages and the historic National Motor Museum at Bealieu.

Why not come and see what you’re missing?
