About Salisbury's Chequered History Guides

Welcome to our website. We are two Blue Badge Guides who studied together in 2015 to become professional tourist guides in part of southern England that is known as Wessex. We are both Salisbury based and can guide in Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and West Sussex.

We have a common theme in our guiding, that is to tell the story and to tell it well. We realised that we had similar ideas when we both wanted to present Salisbury City Walks in costume. A costume, or the cloths, that replicate those worn by a person who had lived and walked in the City. Not any person, but specific local historical figures who had impacted the City.

With all of this in mind our enterprise began. We have since introduced a City bicycle ride, a second female historical character, and most importantly, we now can offer to our visitors a licensed vehicle that can carry six adults or four adults with two young children. So, whether you want to stay in the City or wish to be driven to a destination or several destinations within our area, Salisbury’s Chequered History Guides can help you.
