Heale House Gardens

Look carefully at the house and grounds, for King Charles II hid here in 1651 on his way to the coast and safety. The route that led him to the coast is now known as the “Monarch Way”. Along this historic route the house and garden nestles in the beautifully bucolic Woodford Valley, one of the prettiest valleys in Wiltshire.

The house is now home to the Rasch family and they have opened their garden to visitors. And what a garden it is! With the River Avon running through it, a Japanese Tea House spanning the river and cream teas available in a garden that overlooks a scene reminiscent of the work of the famous artist John Constable, the garden offers peace and refreshment for body and for the soul.
