William Golding Nobel Laureate

It is not every small city that has it’s very own amateur theatre housed in it’s very own purpose built studio. Salisbury is fortunate in that it has this facility to offer visitors. The local talent has been strutting it’s stuff for the past fifty odd years and although the names have changed, the standard continues to remains high. Within Studio Theatre there is on offer through the year a fine selection of plays, musical theatre, youth productions from the flourishing youth group, and entertainment to suit all tastes. Why not take a look on their very own website, drop in for a visit, buy a ticket and make use of the theatre bar?

“The Studio Theatre Club’s search for the unusual – the worthwhile unusual – led them to the discovery, and presentation in their Milford Street theatre this week, of the Greek tragedy “The Alcestis of Euripides”, the thoughtful work of the producer William Golding is always apparent.”
From local press cutting, Monday 24th – Saturday 29th May 1955.
