Beaulieu
Beaulieu Village – a beautiful village where you are as likely to see a bride draw up in a vintage car as you are to see ponies and donkeys walk down the main street, honestly! A cream tea, New Forest ice-cream, lunch at the Montague Arms, all can be done in this historic and unassuming village. Why not visit Beaulieu Motor Museum? This one site has an amazing history. It not only contains the car from “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” plus another 285 vehicles that have seen the test of time. There is a Gatehouse that once was the home to monks and is now a Palace. The land was given to the monks after King John had a dreadful nightmare. That was in 1201 and now the Gatehouse is a home to the Montague family. Why not visit, take a ride in a vintage bus and try to find out what links the Montague family to William Shakespeare?
